Games Britannia Dicing With Destiny.

Games Britannia Dicing With Destiny.

during ourt class today we watched part one of three of the games Britannia documentary hosted by none other than Benjamin Woolley, games historian and general seeker of the truth.

This documentary explored the use of games in religion and within a social environment during the iron age. this was explored due to the finding of a board in a church. i say "in",what i should say is that the board was built into the stone floor and seats at the side of the church which would have been a place to sit play and chat while waiting for the various functions that the church served.

This leads me on to the most interesting thing!

Why do we as humans play?

It is every child's favorite phrase "I'm Bored" those fatal words all these years we have been telling them that boring people get bored, but we now know that this is not the case we get bored it's what makes us unique as a species.

However on doing a little more research i think that this is more to do with our length of memory and our ability to learn, it may even be an evolutionary trait.
